#2 · Novel Peel-Off, Fiddly For Mature Hands
Wonderskin Wonder Blading Lip Stain Masque
A clever, genuinely novel peel-off masque system with the widest shade range in the test at twenty colours. Held back for our purposes by a four-to-five-step application process that reads as fun on a Saturday night at twenty-five, and as unnecessary friction at sixty-two.
Why it ranks here
Wonderskin’s peel-off masque is the most innovative product in this test. A seaweed-derived polymer masque, set by a calcium-salt activator spray, that lifts away as a thin film and leaves a stain behind. Twenty shades, including hard-to-find ones like Hush (neutral brown), Darling (plum), and Divine (burgundy red). On the panel it earned high marks for colour choice and for the ten-hour wear claim once the peel was complete. What kept it off the top spot is the process. The Peel & Reveal method asks the wearer to apply two to three layers, wait ten to forty-five seconds, mist with the activator, wait again, and then peel from the corner. Four of the panel over sixty-five reported pulling at the thinner skin at the lip corners during the peel step. Three said they would be unlikely to do the whole routine before an ordinary Tuesday coffee.
